MUSIC OF STEPHEN SYVERUD (2013 | recorded by the composer)

"Contact", for alto saxophone and electronics, was written during the spring/summer of 2001 in Budapest and includes manipulated recorded sounds, like a roof being replaced, jazz drummers, and crickets. "Smoking Mirrors", for alto saxophone and piano, was premiered in Athens, Greece, and -- as the title suggests -- things are not always as they first appear, with the music creating illusions.
